Recently there have been a lot of rumours swirling around linking Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari and Charles Leclerc to Mercedes. Leclerc was asked about this ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix.

The Daily Mail recently published a rumour that Ferrari is planning to offer Lewis Hamilton £40million to leave Mercedes and join the red team, and this report has since been relayed by numerous other Formula 1 news outlets.

This obviously only further fuelled already existing media speculation that Lewis might choose to make a shock move from Mercedes to Ferrari.

It has also recently been rumoured that Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has been in contact with Charles Leclerc about a possible seat, but this was denied by both.

Well, now ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix, Leclerc was again asked if we could soon see him in a Mercedes.

“No comment,” Leclerc said.

“As my contract expires at the end of 2024, I can understand people thinking about this. The rumour exists, okay, but it doesn’t bother me.

“No negotiations have been started. So ask Fred [Vasseur, Ferrari team boss] when he plans to start discussions! Me, I’m fully focused on the track.

“I like Ferrari,” he concluded.
