Lewis Hamilton explains his Saudi Arabian Grand Prix radio message calling Max Verstappen “f***ing crazy” and a peculiar message on the jumper he wore in Abu Dhabi.
The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix got really heated, and after Max Verstappen did one of his dangerous on-track moves, Lewis went on the radio and told his race engineer Peter Bonnington that the Dutch driver was “f***ing crazy”.
At the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Thursday press conference the Briton was asked to explain the message.
“Honestly, when we’re in the races we’ll say all sorts of things, in the heat of the moment,“ Lewis said.
“Adrenaline is firing, emotions are on edge. I’d say that’s a figure of speech. I think as racing drivers we’re all a bit crazy to do what we do and take the risks we do.”

Another peculiar situation happened in the paddock prior to the press conference. Lewis was wearing a purple jumper and journalists noticed that the words “f**k off” were embossed on the back.
They immediately asked him if there was any significance to the words. Lewis said he wasn’t aware of the message when he decided to wear the jumper.
“I mean, I didn’t make the jumper,” the Briton said.
“So literally as I put it on, I saw the message on the back.”
