Lewis Hamilton says he hopes his former team McLaren could perhaps be “in the fight” with Mercedes in 2021.
Hamilton drove for McLaren from 2007 until 2012 and won his first world title back in 2008. With McLaren switching to Mercedes power in 2021, the team could build on its third place 2020 finish and perhaps even challenge for race wins. At least that’s what Lewis believes.
“I was really happy to see the McLaren so close, particularly with how they’ve got changes and they’re using our engine this year,” said the Briton.

“It was great to see that at the end of the year with a good car so that they can perhaps be in the fight with us this year.
“If that makes it a three-way team championship, I think that would be amazing for the fans to see,” concluded Hamilton.
While he was driving for McLaren, Lewis scored 18 wins.
