Lewis Hamilton has won the Formula 1 title seven times, with an additional two close losses. The Briton gives his comments on fighting for the title for the 10th time.

Lewis Hamilton lost the championship by one point in 2007, in his debut season. He then won his first title in 2008, and later after moving to Mercedes he won the 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 championships.

His only other loss happened in 2016, when he lost to team-mate Nico Rosberg. Now, in his 10th championship fight, Lewis was asked how it feels compared to his first one back in 2007.

“I would say it’s similar,” the Briton said.

“From my first one, it’s a lot easier to handle now than my first one, but I’ve been here a long time.

“I was very young and didn’t have the tools to be able to handle the sort of pressures that were being put on me, so it’s a lot different for me.”

Lewis was then asked if he will be able to use his vast experience against Max Verstappen, who is now fighting for his first championship.

“Time will tell, I hope so. Of course, it’s been an incredibly difficult year. It’s not been smooth sailing in terms of our performance as a team with the car and everything.

“There’s been a lot of learnings in the course of these races we’ve had, so I hope we see that moving forward,” concluded Hamilton.
