Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc’s cars have sustained damage from a loose drain cover. The morning test session has been stopped and will not resume.

Today was Lewis Hamilton’s first day behind the wheel of the Mercedes W15 in 2024 pre-season testing, and unfortunately the morning session came to an early stop.

After Lewis ran over a kerb at Turn 11, his car sustained damage and debris could be see flying off. The same thing happened to Charles Leclerc.

F1 has confirmed that a drain cover came loose, and they are expecting the repairs to be concluded within the next hour. This means that the morning session will not be resumed.
