Former Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo says Lewis Hamilton “will want to do everything he can to end his career by winning the world championship”.
After it was announced that Lewis Hamilton will leave Mercedes at the end of 2024, to join Ferrari in 2025, everybody is giving their opinion on this seismic shift.
The latest to give his comments is legendary former Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo, who was leading the Scuderia during their most successful period with Michael Schumacher.
Di Montezemolo believes going after Hamilton was the right move for the team.
“Hamilton is a great champion,” he told ANSA.

“He will want to do everything he can to end his career by winning the world championship.”
Di Montezemolo also believes we will witness an interesting dynamic between Hamilton and his Ferrari team-mate Charles Leclerc.
“Leclerc is looking for his first title, it’s going to be fun. But with two number-one drivers, it will be even more important to have a winning car.
“It is fundamental, otherwise this choice would prove to be a big risk,” the Italian concluded.
