Mercedes denies rumours that the team will part ways with its long-time title partner Petronas, for a deal with Saudi Arabian oil company Saudi Aramco.
Recently numerous F1 news sources reported a rumour that Mercedes’ long-time relationship with Petronas will end after 2021.
According to these reports Mercedes would be making a deal with Saudi Aramco, a Saudi Arabian oil company connected to the team’s co-owner INEOS.
We decided not to publish the story as it seemed completely unsubstantiated, and now GPFans.com reports that a Mercedes spokesperson shot down these rumours.

“Petronas and Mercedes have been partners since 2010 in a collaborative long-term relationship that is mutually beneficial to both parties,” the spokesperson said.
“Last year, we extended our partnership for another multi-year cycle and we are proud to continue to be working together to deliver cutting-edge performance.”
So, for now the Mercedes-Petronas relationship seems to be intact.
