Mercedes’ partner CrowdStrike’s latest content update has caused global IT outages, and the Mercedes F1 Team is now working to prevent any issues in Hungary.
IT outages caused by Mercedes partner CrowdStrike’s content update have caused numerous issues around the world, which affected airlines, hospitals, banks, shops and other services and businesses, and also the Mercedes Formula 1 Team.
The cyber security company has been Mercedes’ partner since 2019, and the team is now working with them to prevent any issues over the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend.
“We are working closely with our partners at CrowdStrike to mitigate any impact,” a Mercedes spokesperson said.
The issue has also affected Mercedes’ customer teams: Aston Martin, McLaren and Williams.
CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz says the company is working hard to prevent any further issues.

“CrowdStrike is actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts,” he said.
“Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted. This is not a security incident or cyberattack. The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed.
“We refer customers to the support portal for the latest updates and will continue to provide complete and continuous updates on our website.
“We further recommend organisations ensure they’re communicating with CrowdStrike representatives through official channels,” Kurtz concluded.
