Recently rumours came out saying that three F1 teams have breached the 2022 cost cap, although none were named. Here is the latest on the rumour.

A few days ago, Italian branch of Motorsport.com reported that three teams have been found to be in breach of the 2022 budget cap, but the publication did not name any names.

The same was reported by German publication Auto Motor und Sport, but they also did not name the teams.

After these rumours came out, FIA CEO Stefano Domenicali called for sporting sanctions for any teams that breach the budget cap. However, the word coming out now is that the FIA is denying these reports and calling them “factually wrong”.

Sky Sports reporter Craig Slater reports that the FIA’s auditing process is “only scheduled to conclude in the coming weeks”, and that the governing organization says “talk of potential breaches at this stage are unfounded”.

Some F1 fans and observers have tried to imply that one of the mentioned teams is Mercedes, while another team that was being talked about if Ferrari.

As of this moment, there is absolutely no indication that Mercedes has any issues when it comes to the 2022 budget cap, and statements that have been coming out of the team are confirming this.

In any case, we will keep you updated on this developing story.
