Williams driver Nicholas Latifi says he is past the death threats that he has received after his crash at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which influenced the outcome of the 2021 championship.
Nicholas Latifi’s crash in the final stages of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has started a chain of events that ended with race director Michael Masi breaking the Safety Car rules and protocols, which allowed Max Verstappen to easily win the race and the 2021 championship.
There is absolutely no doubt that this situation robbed Lewis Hamilton of his eighth title win, which was almost certain had the rules been followed.
A few days after the event Latifi released a statement saying he has been receiving death threats from people who blamed him for the outcome of the race.
Naturally, the Formula 1 community offered its support and condemned those who would resort to such despicable actions.

Thankfully, in a recent talk with Sky Sports F1, Latifi revealed that these things are behind him now.
“I already feel it is behind me,” the Canadian said.
“It was a tricky few days with everything going on afterwards but I mean, it’s part of the sport.
“It was kind of what I was expecting to happen as I mentioned in the post but I’m past it now and for sure, I guess once the season picks up and gives something more important for people to talk about and focus on [it will be forgotten].
“But it’s long in the past for me now,” Latifi concluded.
