The FIA has arranged a special World Motor Sport Council meeting for February 3. It is expected to tackle “several pressing issues”.
RacingNews265.com reports that the FIA has called an emergency World Motor Sport Council meeting for February 3. It is expected that it will tackle “various topics that require attention ahead of the 2022 F1 season”.
RacingNews365.com also reports that such emergency meetings have in the past been held remotely, and matters have been settled in the form of an e-vote, but this meeting is expected to be held in person.
Although the exact subject of the meeting is unknown, it is expected that it will deal with filling various top positions across different FIA commissions following Mohammed Ben Sulayem’s appointment as FIA president.

It is also expected that changes to F1 sporting, technical and financial regulations will be some of topics that will be discussed.
Obviously, considering how much hangs on the FIA’s investigation into the controversial events of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, it stands to reason that this will also be one of the topics on the agenda, along with the future of race director Michael Masi.
We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
