You’ve all seen Lewis Hamilton‘s spectacular Brazilian Grand Prix drive, and now you can watch the Briton, aged 13, win a 1998 karting race from the back of the grid.

Back in 1998, a 13 year old Lewis Hamilton was the youngest driver competing in the Formula Junior Intercontinental field.

Hamilton, in his kart no. 44, gave everyone a sign of things to come by winning the race at Buckmore Park by just eight-thousandths of a second, starting from the back of the grid.

Ultimately Lewis won six karting championships, then went on to win the the Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship, the Formula 3 Euro Series in 2005, and the GP2 series in 2006. Then in 2007 he made his Formula 1 debut, and the rest as they say is history.
