After Lewis Hamilton won the British Grand Prix, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff says he “kind of felt it would come like a fairytale here in Silverstone”.
At the British Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton finally won his first race since 2021, and with this win he has broken the record for most victories on a single circuit.
After Lewis crossed the finish line, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff came on his radio with an emotional message.
“Lewis, we will prevail,” the Austrian said.
“We never give up. And what a sign for our joy and trajectory here on the British Grand Prix.
“We couldn’t have wished for anything better.”

Afterwards, Toto told Sky Sports F1:
“I kind of felt it would come like a fairytale here in Silverstone. The British GP, the last one with Mercedes and Lewis. Fantastic.
“[Verstappen] was closing down for a while pretty quickly but there was [Lando] Norris in between and that was advantageous.
“Really good,” Wolff concluded.
